I just love this park. Those extraordinary homes on all 4 outer edges, the same but not. The trimmed square trees around the edges, the cone shaped ones within and all those other newly leafed up ones placed so carefully about.
This fountain is the one I like, but the further one was playing. Maybe only one goes at a time. I don’t know about that. I do like the fact that you can sit on the grass here, unlike most Paris parks. Grass like gardens is for looking at, not touching. If you wish to sit there are plenty of park benches and from there you can observe the Parisians promenading.
The kids adore this place after school, the teenagers gossip in groups on the lawn, lovers gaze into one another’s eyes, matrons disapproving, nannies push prams, and tourists wander aimlessly about blocking my view. I of course I’m not a tourist, having lived here almost 11days. Oh, and those matching triple archways at each end.
Glenys and I both do sketches which we work on once we get back to the apartment. The end of the day is quite busy. Both on our computers, photos to compare, ideas to discuss, and me doing my art journal once I’ve put watercolour on the day’s work.
So far we haven’t set up easels anywhere, though I have seen 2 people who’d found a corner of Paris to do this from. Those paintings will begin next week when we go to Barga in Tuscany, so what I’ll post will be paintings and sketches.
I’m really glad you like what I’m doing so far. It’s so good to get feedback. Enjoy the weekend and I’ll be back with more tomorrow.
