Edge of the Harbour

Today I’ll be back in the Studio to see how this acrylic painting looks. I began with a fairly traditional approach during the weekend ( with people coming in and out ) and felt it was capturing the clear water where it’s quite shallow, and you can see  to the bottom.

But I’m looking to try out things and I still had the black line technique in mind.

Just as I was about to leave for the day, I took a brush and with the last of the paint, mixed it around to make ‘black’ and got stuck in. Then using the edge of the palette knife used it to scape back the lines. I loved doing it, but whether it’s where I’m headed yet is undecided.

I am thinking of doing more rocks and water as a subject, because it fascinates me, and I adore the colours.
