This is a few of my sketches, done in the village of Trausse, South of France. These are sketches done as I observe & enjoy special moments around the village.
The above 2 sketches were done as I stood in the doorway of the Summer Kitchen, looking out to the little garden. the old wisteria, the roses and petunias, pots and milk cans. Where else would you rather be?
These stone village houses are where you can stay on your visits. Inside is open and luxurious, beautifully restored and a delight to spend your spare time to relax in. Potted flowers are used extensively in French villages, and completely replaced after each winter.
This is an annual event. Everybody takes a table and empties out their attic. As you can imagine there are some wonderful treasures to be found. Somehow at the end of the day, everything ends up back in somebody else’s attic again!
A lovely view across the vineyards and Village to the Pyrenees. Just over there is Spain.
I’ll be adding a few more after my 2014 visit to Trausse.
