Class Over

Erin. Lunch & chat.

It was 8 degrees first thing, but by start of Friday’s class was 18 degrees. A magnificent blue and sunny day. Perfect for what we had planned.

For 2 new sketchers, it was good to have a flower still life to try. For others who had a previous class or two up their sleeves,  they could choose flowers or the books. Each of these sketches were a joy, both to themselves and the class.

Both groups had to complete sketches in a time frame. On flowers – sketch and colour on in one hour. The book group needed to complete more than one. And some lovely work was produced in quite different styles.

Down the hill we trotted and before you knew it, coffees were being enjoyed and subjects being decided on. This is where it’s so interesting. Some choose closeups, some pathways, others a vista. All totally capture the feeling of a tiny park you wouldn’t think was on a main road. Annie’s sketch grew to the next page when she realised she could sketch pigeons afterall. Margaret did a great little watercolour but had to take off before we grabbed her book for the pic.

Colour was added at Belgrave Cartel across the street. Everyone was feeling very pleased with their own and everybody’s colourful sketches. An excellent week everyone.
