Up up and Away for St Patrick’s Day

This is my surprise birthday gift!!!

Only trouble is I was busily making other plans for Saturday which absolutely definitely could not be changed. And the surprise was for Saturday.

Sunday was St Patrick’s day so I thought I was clear. Not so.

Finally when everything looked like it would go pear shaped – the family had to tell me what the surprise was. After a split second I ditched my friends and went with Plan A. As you do!

Here’s how it went…………..

Over the coast and around the coast before returning to the helipad

What an extraordinary experience. I shall never forget it. To rise from the ground in a very small glass bubble is not an everyday experience.

Then to hover above the runway and lift vertically above our city was so unreal. Over the harbour bridge, past Balmoral Beach and north to where we live near Manly. Yes Joanna has raised the umbrella and we could spot it easily. She could see us up there. Then for a little longer – 30 mins flashed by – we floated, hovered, turned steeply and slowly glided back to base.

Did this all really happen? It must have. It’s in my memory and my camera.

Now what will happen for the BIG birthday in a year or two if this is just a warmup!!

    • Hi Micheline, Thanks for the comment. It was pretty amazing.

There is one casual spot available on Thursday. It’s a 3hr class, starting in the Studio at 10am, then out on location and finishing in a cafe. You’d need to let me know if you will take it. $60 casual.

You haven’t missed any Sketch your Cake High Teas as the next one is on Tuesday April 30 at Gunner’s again. I’m doing them every 2nd month now.

      Cheers Erin
