Je Voudrais Une Epinard Fetta et jambon Galette, SVP.

S&F 1 S&F2Monday November 11 ’13

What a rainy and windy day. The sort of day you’d usually decide to stay at home.

But not for us.  it’s our last Sketch&French class this term, and we’re having it at 4 Frogs Creperie to celebrate.

Run by four French hommes, who fell in love with Australia, and noticed a distinct lack of the mouth watering crepes and gallettes so much a part of real French cuisine.

So they set up a Creperie in Mosman, and offered their utterly divine savoury or sweet creations to the public.

And they came. In droves.Like we did.

I certainly had to book, even on a wet Monday, to be sure we’d get our table.

The other Sketch&Frenchers hadn’t tried these before so the first thing to do, was to order – in French.

The staff all speak it so they are well able to understand our valiant attempts.

We laughed a lot about reading the menu first and looking for the ones with the shortest names.

However, each one did very well, and you can see that somehow we all got what we thought we’d ordered.

We began our sketches of what was on the table while waiting for our orders.

We sketched – very quickly – once our gallettes arrived, so they wouldn’t be stone cold.

Adeline arrived just after we’d polished them off and we let her order one of her own, while we decided to on a crepe to share for dessert.

Jackie picked Crepe of Coconut Ice Cream & Homemade Dark Belgian Chocolate Sauce!!!!

OMG. Definitely death by chocolate!!

We really did have a very enjoyable time trying out our restaurant French, and answering the questions Adeline had prepared for us to answer.

What a lovely finale for the year, and everyone now feels much more confident about travelling and sketching with some French conversation tossed in.

More from Adeline and I in February 2014. Come along and join us. Details below.

Do join us in Term 1 2014.

Our 5 week course starts Monday February 10th. 9.30am – 11.30am.

Beginners and beginners plus will love it. Get your French language working for you, and become a travel sketcher at the same time.
