Sketching Week 9. Shiny metal objects

We work through many ways of seeing and observing over a term, and colour is the way to  bring your sketches to life.  We chose ‘shiny, pretty metal’ as a surprise subject, but to show ways of using simple colour to quickly get the metal look.

Our Monday New Sketchers learned a lot about perspective using our simple little graph as a way to get started. The corner sketches at the fire station showed you’d begun to understand the concept. Excellent.

Seeing your work from here in Tuscany, I’m delighted, as are your tutors with the results. You really do have to take time to break down the colure you see. the more you do the more you will learn to work out what layers you’ll need. Every sketch this week showed the effort you’d all gone to. Give yourselves a pat on the back everyone.
