Sketching Week 1, Term 3. Sunflowers in Winter

This week your weekly posting comes from the Yanaka area of Tokyo. Completely different from our Provence and Tuscany travels but just as fascinating.

As always, lots of settling in to a new term and finding out what an enjoyable journey you’re on.

All classes had the Van Gogh sunflowers as the first still life of term. His of course were a little bit dead, but yours are certainly not.

The pink orientals were a lovely option for our regulars.

You all did beautifully at Rambling Rose – thanks Beryl for allowing us to sketch among the gorgeous aromas and arrangements on those very chilly days.

Our Saturday New Sketchers worked separately from the regulars, so you’ll see the two groups shown that way.

I must say I’m extremely proud of our new sketchers and the magnificent results they came up with in their first classes. Congrats too to the tutors for leading the way here.
