Week1.Term3. Back Together

From Erin:  Back into action. With all pens and brushes flying. So exciting.  Ok let me settle down. Whew. Such great sketches came down the airwaves to me this week, here in Barcelona. New Sketchers did remarkably well with their first observations and use of colour. Well done.  General Sketchers are letting go with their colour. Loved the old coffee grinder and accessories the tutors had setup for you.  My word there’s a lot of action going on there. Terrific.  Take a look at all the works and feel very proud. You did amazingly.

From Kathy:  This week was about depicting very different surfaces,  reflective metal vs organic Hessian, how do we tell the story in simple brushstrokes. And COFFEE of course!  Our sketchbooks have a delicious aroma now after using coffee as our warm brown…..! Second sketch was about celebrating the start of a new creative term with like minded new and old friends. Camaraderie, good food and fabulous views…

From Toni:  Coffee was the theme for General classes. A combination of a really warm weather day 24 degrees and rainy cold Winter days where we needed a brolly. Great to be back, friendships re-kindled, much enthusiasm. Couldn’t stop you sketching

Chat in the studio about what you’d like from the classes this term. Makes it easy to tailor the lessons to your needs. Fresh beans and cups donated by the Campos Coffee Rep in Dee Why. Coffee bean grinder care of Kathy and hessian coffee bag made specially by one of the sketcher’s sons on his new sewing machine.

For me Toni, it was Off to Roma & Co to pretend we were sketching a café in Europe: So you want perspective, here it is; and you’d like to sketch people, howabout the lovely lady in the hat drinking tea?; you mentioned buildings, here is a lovely flat-on perspective of the café. We like to listen to our sketchers and design our classes just the way you want. If you have ideas for classes, just let us know, we are all ears.

New Sketchers braved the rain and cold to sit upstairs at Roma & Co for a quick coffee sketch. It’s that easy’, a few lines and a dash of colour. So lovely to be playing with pencils again!

Kathy, you went to Ground Zero and Ivanhoe…Nice and warm, hot soup at Ivanoe. Sketchers happy to be ‘”back in the fold”

Our sketchers like surprises…Next week we have a lovely warm, Winter theme to spice things up a bit.

Now take a look at some lovely sketches.
