Week 1 Term 1 ’18. Looking for Shape

Our first week of term and back to sketching with a hiss and a roar. I’m sure everyone had a big lie down after their classes. Never has our right brain worked so hard, seeing past what we know and deconstructing our subjects into shapes.
Intro classes studied how to make objects in nature into simple shapes. Then how to get that onto a page! Toss in some colour and……there it is.
Laneways and alleyways was the subject for Travel Sketching classes. You’ll see how we broke what we saw into 5 main shapes, colour block each. Next a grid to check eye level. Where do all those forms converge! Students were soon getting down to the nitty gritty before doing a final sketch bringing all this together.
Sydney Adventure Class theme – Working Wharf.
Take a look and see how they went.
