Sketching in Natick
2024

Hi, Erin Hill here, and I’ll be in back again from Australia visiting our family in Natick.
I’m a Travel Sketch Tutor and 2024 will be the 3rd year I’ve given my Sketch Workshops and classes in Natick.

May to June 2024
My passion is to see people who are sure they cannot sketch - actually blossom when they realise they can!

A very big thank you to Denise Girardin, Kim Dwelley and Jane-Ellen Frazier Newman for their encouragement and support in creating these Workshops and Classes.

The Sketch: Believe it or not, sketching isn’t about talent! It’s about seeing!
Workshops or Classes - I’ll show you how we observe what’s in front of us, by looking and observing our subject,
and getting those shapes into our sketchbooks.
No pencils to start, just a black pen and a willingness to ‘let go’ and put lines on a page.
You’ll soon see it coming together in your own style (yes you have one.)
We sketch outside on location and not from photos or reference.
It’s about having fun and enjoying whatever ends up on your page. Wibbly wobbly is fine.
I’ll be demonstrating every step of the way.
What to bring:
Sketchbook,
(8x6) ringbound or any small sketch book or visual diary with smooth white paper.
(The weight need only be 120 - 150gsm. I think that’s 70 -90 lbs. Heavier paper not needed.)
